HOLDERNESS, N.H. — Camp opens July 26 at Plymouth State University for the Vermont and New Hampshire football teams as they begin preparing for the 53rd Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl to be played here Aug. 5.

The annual high school all-star game has raised more than $5 million dollars in its 52-year history.

There is an addition to the Vermont roster as Mount St. Joseph Academy's Truman Young replaces Brattleboro's Jon Barber who has mononucleosis.

The camp will start with double sessions as Vermont coach Joe McDonald (South Burlington) and New Hampshire coach Jim Schubert (Manchester Central) begin putting their teams through their paces.

New Hampshire leads the series 37-13-2.

Both teams will conduct intrasquad scrimmages July 29 that are open to the public.

There will be a pre-game parade at noon Aug. 5 with kickoff slated for 2:30 p.m.

General admission tickets are on sale at ticket outlets throughout both states at $8 apiece. They will be priced at $10 on game day.

The game will be broadcast on various radio stations throughout the two states on the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Network with Rick Adams and Jack Healey handling the play-by-play.
