Douglas, VHFA to unveil funds for affordable housing program

Gov. James Douglas and affordable housing advocates are expected to announce today that the Vermont Housing Finance Agency will begin a new $10 million program.
The program will offer 4.75 percent interest rates on mortgages to eligible applicants and the agency is also beginning a job loss insurance program.
Sarah Carpenter of the VHFA and Jon Korpela, Accounts Manager for the Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Company are expected to make the announcement about the initiative.
