Middlebury College announced Wednesday that former President Bill Clinton will deliver the commencement address on May 27.
Clinton also will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree for his philanthropic work.
"We're very pleased," college President Ronald Liebowitz said.
Since leaving the Oval Office in 2001, Clinton has established the William J. Clinton Foundation, the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative and the Clinton Global Initiative. His organizations have raised billions of dollars to fight AIDS and address other global problems.
Clinton was elected president in 1992 and re-elected in 1996, the first Democratic president in six decades to win a second term. He previously served as the governor of Arkansas and attorney general of Arkansas.
