A New Hampshire man pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in Brattleboro to a charge stemming from an online sex chat with a police officer posing as a teenage girl.

Carlo Dobrich, 37, of Claremont, N.H., entered his guilty plea to a federal charge of interstate traveling with the intent of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor. No sentencing date was available.

According to court documents, Norwich Police Chief Douglas Robinson on Dec. 18 logged onto an Internet chatroom posing as "Connie," a 13-year-old girl. While logged on, court records stated, "Connie" was contacted by someone using the screenname, "Smokejumper," later identified as Dobrich.

During the chat, Dobrich questioned "Connie" extensively about her sexual experience and described in graphic detail the sexual acts he wanted to "teach" her, according to court records.

The two arranged to meet at a restaurant. Dobrich left his home in Claremont and traveled across state lines to Norwich to meet "Connie," court records stated. After his arrest, Dobrich admitted that he was at the restaurant to meet "Connie," according to court records.
