A Wells man charged with pointing a shotgun at a passing truck answered to a misdemeanor charge of reckless endangerment on Monday.
Kevin D. Moffit, 41, pleaded innocent in Rutland District Court.
He was issued a citation to appear in court for an incident that allegedly took place on Oct. 24.
State Police received a complaint from Bruce Martelle, who told police in October that he was driving home on Route 30 with his daughter and her friend in his truck when he saw Moffit standing in a cornfield near Moffit Lane, according to court records.
Martelle told police that Moffit was dressed in hunting gear and carrying a gun that he pointed at the truck as it drove by, according to the police affidavit.
Moffit later told police he was hunting rabbits in the field with his dog when he saw Martelle, a former friend, drive by. He said he saw Martelle stop his truck and yell something at him. He said he responded by taking a camera out of his pocket and taking a picture of Martelle.
