Town plans annual winter celebration

NORTH BENNINGTON — The village's third annual winter festival is scheduled for Jan. 31, according to the Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce.
An indoor carnival at the North Bennington Graded School has been added this year.
Festival events will wagon rides and ice sculptures.
Chili tasting is scheduled indoors at the Vermont Arts Exchange and a sledding and penguin contest will take place at Lake Paran where hot chocolate will be served
The McCullough Library will host a story hour and the Park-McCullough House will offer free tours and cookies.
The penguin plunge begins at 11 a.m. at Lake Paran.
