SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Area Habitat for Humanity is seeking applications from families looking to buy a home in Springfield.
Applicants must make between 45 percent and 60 percent of the median income in Windsor County, depending upon family size. A family of four would have to earn between $28,200 and $37,600 to be eligible. The house is available now and the homeowner would take on a 20- to 30-year interest-free mortgage of $70,000.
Applicants must have worked or resided in the Springfield area, which includes Andover, Baltimore, Cavendish, Chester, Grafton, Ludlow and Rockingham, for the past year and agree to a partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
