WARDSBORO — A Wardsboro man destroyed his truck in an alleged drunken driving crash Sunday morning.

Around 1 a.m., state police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 100. Police said James Knapp, 56, was driving too fast on the snow-covered road when he lost control of his 2005 GMC Sierra pickup, hit a snowbank and rolled over.

Police said Knapp was wearing his seat belt and was not injured, but his truck was destroyed.

Police charged Knapp with drunken driving and released him with a citation to appear in Brattleboro District Court at a later date.
