DUI charges filed after crash on I-91

DUMMERSTON — A Connecticut man is facing drunken driving charges after he crashed his car on the Interstate 91 Saturday morning.
Around 1 a.m., state police responded to a single-vehicle crash on I-91 north. When police arrived, they found a 1998 Toyota Corolla that had struck a reflector post. The driver, Richard H. Collins, 38, of East Hampton, Conn., called police from the Sunoco gas station in Dummerston and when police located him they allegedly found him intoxicated.
Police charged Collins and released him with a citation to appear in Brattleboro District Court at a later date. The car sustained minor damage and was removed from the scene by Marlboro Collision and Towing.
