Museum gets $18K grant for elevator

LUDLOW — The Black River Academy Museum has received an $18,000 grant for its ongoing elevator project.
Last month in Montpelier, museum staff received the award from the Vermont Arts Council and was one of 16 organizations to receive more than $180,000 in Cultural Facilities Grants.
In July, the museum broke ground on a roughly $500,000 project to build a tower containing an elevator and stairs that will allow visitors to access the third floor of the museum.
