Burr and Burton's Travis Mylott poured in 21 points to help lead the No. 9 Bulldogs past No. 8 Woodstock, 64-37 in Wednesday's Division II playdown game in Woodstock.
"(Burr and Burton is) a good team and they played good defense," said Woodstock coach Tom Doyle. "We just couldn't get a run going."
Woodstock's leading scorer was Cal Derosia, who put up 13 points.
Woodstock finishes its season at 12-9.
"Obviously I'm disappointed," Doyle said, "but we had a real good season."
TV 63, Northfield 49
In Wilmington, Scott Hayford scored 18 points and dished out 11 assists while teammate Eric Froment pumped in another 18 points, powering Twin Valley to the win over Northfield in the opening round of the Division III playoffs. Troy Birch chipped in with 16 points. Leading Northfield were Cody Chamberlin with 16 points and Kevin Darling with 15.
Mount Anthony 81, Missisquoi 51
In Bennington, the No. 5 Patriots routed the No. 13 Thunderbirds, with Kyle Callahan and Dan Nichols scoring 19 points apiece. The Patriots took control with a 19-9 second period and clinched the win with a 22-10 fourth.
Dylan Parmenter added 17 points and Taylor Burke 10 for 16-5 MAU, while Ben Fournier had 14 points and Eric Colgan 11 for the 9-12 T-Birds.
MAU will host No. 5 South Burlington on Saturday.
BOYS HOCKEY
BBA 9, Brattleboro 2
In Manchester, Eddie Lewicki, Luke Drabyn, and Trevor Pollock each netted two goals for No. 3 Burr and Burton in the Lake Division playdown game. Connor Stewart and Patrick Quinn combined for nine saves for the Bulldogs. For No. 14 Brattleboro, Matt Hudon and Jamie Martell each scored a goal while Greg DeVincentis stopped 33 shots. The Bulldogs improve to 17-2-2.

In Montpelier, Jyneva Pickel scored the game-winning goal with 1:31 left in the fourth overtime to lift No. 7 U-32 to the victory over No. 10 Brattleboro in the Lake Division girls hockey playdown action. Ashley Vincent stopped 32 shots for U-32, which improves to 12-8-1 and will travel to play No. 2 Colchester (15-5) at 6:20 p.m. on Saturday.
CHEERLEADING
State finals Saturday
The Vermont Cheerleading State Championships will be held Saturday in the Robert E. Miller Expo Centre at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction.
Seventeen teams will vie for state titles in three divisions. The competition for all divisions is slated to begin at 6 p.m., with awards tentatively scheduled for 8 p.m.
Essex High School will seek to repeat as the Division I champion against a competitive field, including perennial contender Rutland, BFA-St. Albans and South Burlington. Defending Division II state champion Vergennes will take on a field of six other teams. In Division III, Poultney High School will shoot for six in a row against tough teams from BFA-Fairfax, Richford, Winooski and two other schools.
Tickets for the championships are $6 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Doors open to the public at 4 p.m. Spectators may access the Exposition via Gate B on Route 15 or Gate E on Route 2A.

OV grad to nationals
in wrestling
Erik Becker of Pittsford took first place in the 215 lb. class at the Western New England Independent School Championship held at Taft School in Watertown, Conn., last week. As a result of the first-place finish, he advanced to the National Prep School Wrestling Championship at Lehigh University later this month.
Becker wrestled at Otter Valley prior to graduating in 2008, and is completing a postgraduate year at the Pomfret School in Pomfret, Conn. This fall he will attend Union College, where he will study economics and play football.
