A 21-year-old North Clarendon man suffered only minor injuries after totaling his car on Cold River Road in Shrewsbury on Wednesday afternoon.

Jonathan Majka was traveling west on Cold River Road at about 12:17 p.m. when he unable to navigate a corner about one mile north of the covered bridge. He lost control of his 2002 Ford Mustang, crashing it into two trees, according to State Police.

The vehicle sustained major damage, but Majka, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported by ambulance to Rutland Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. The Shrewsbury Fire Department responded to the accident. There were no other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Speed and inattentiveness were deemed to be the cause of the crash, according to State Police.

young and dumb driving a hot rod, I hope this young man learned his lesson. Luckily it was just a tree he hit and not an oncoming vehicle. I'm glad he is ok and too bad for the nice car being totalled but live and learn.
