Affordable housing site in foreclosure

BELLOWS FALLS — The Vermont Housing Finance Agency has taken over an affordable housing apartment complex in Bellows Falls after the owner fell behind on its taxes and mortgage.
The Canal House, a low- and moderate-income senior apartment building with 41 units was foreclosed on last month, owing $385,295. It's now for sale.
The Vermont Housing Finance Agency says it's hoping to sell the building to an owner who'll manage it and keep the current residents in place, the Brattleboro Reformer reported.
