Omya announces more area job cuts

Omya eliminated 28 jobs today including 10 at the company's Florence plant.
The job cuts came in three seperate locations in North America, according to Linda Pleiman, Omya's communications manager.
Pleiman attributed the action to the "general state of the economy."
Pleiman said the cuts were made in various departments and the positions would not be re-filled.
The company continues to employ 190 people at its plant in Florence and offices in Proctor.
