A Danby man was arrested early Saturday morning for allegedly punching, kicking and choking his mother, according to state police.

Cody J. Crandall, 20, pleaded innocent Monday in Rutland District Court to misdemeanor charges of domestic assault, alcohol consumption by a minor and possession of marijuana. Judge Francis McCaffrey set bail at $1,500 for Crandall, who was taken to the Rutland jail after the hearing.

Crandall was arrested after state police were called to his home by his mother, Heidi White, who lives next door. White said when her son came home drunk Friday night, she tried to confront him about his drinking. But she said Crandall began hitting her, at one point choking her until she lost consciousness.

Police found Crandall asleep in his apartment when they arrived. A breathalyzer test admitted about an hour after police arrived indicated Crandall had a blood-alcohol content of 0.193 percent. The legal limit for driving in Vermont is 0.08 percent.

Pain what in the heck does a different last name have to do with the price of tea in China. I know many many people who are married and the women keep their maiden name and when they have a child the last name is the same as the husbands. What in the heck does Heidi's age ahve to do with anything either.
to me it sound from your post you are drunk you make no sense.
Mr. Crandall broke the law simple as that he needs to pay the prcie simple as that

You read about this kind of thing everyday, some punk gets drunk and beats up on a woman and yet, alcohol is not only legal, but is pushed at the younger generations all the time. It used to be those nasty Boones Farm wines, then came wine coolers, then "hard" iced teas and ciders, these type of drinks are not out there for the older people, they are marketed almost entirely towards the younger, more impressionable people.
Then there are the ones who think a crime like this is some kind of joke, right, Palin?
