NeighborWorks of Western Vermont has announced it will offer three free homebuyer education classes this month thanks to sponsorship from Citizens Bank.
Whether someone is thinking about buying a first home or wants to know more about the home-buying process, the class covers a range of topics including budgeting for homeownership, repairing credit, assessing readiness to buy, grant availability for closing cost assistance and special mortgage products.
The courses will be held at NeighborWorks headquarters, 110 Marble St. in West Rutland, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Ilsley Library in Middlebury, from 10:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 17 and at Bennington Free Library in Bennington from 10:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 24.
The cost of the class is typically $50, but is being waived this month in celebration of NeighborWorks Week. Participants in the course are also entitled to a free one-on-one budget and credit counseling appointment. Space is limited. Contact NeighborWorks of Western Vermont to register at 438-2303, ext. 210, or visit nwwvt.org.
