The Castleton green will get the big band treatment tonight when Enerjazz takes the stage.
The Castleton Concert on the Green series will host this new collection of 18 musicians on the green next to the Castleton Federated Church, starting at 7 p.m.
Old standards will be played alongside current pop songs and ballads from the bebop, Latin, rock, funk and big band genres. Hear the songs of such musical greats as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich and Doc Severinsen. Enerjazz is made up of vocals, trumpets, saxophones, trombones, keyboard, bass, guitar, rhythm and drums.
The Castleton Concert on the Green series "Give-Back Program" is in full swing, collecting food donations to benefit a different local agency's food shelf each week. Organizers are urging attendees to help out families in need during these trying times and bring a nonperishable food item. Tonight donations go to the Fair Haven food shelf.
If it rains the concert will take place under the tent at Castleton State College. The show is free and open to the public.
