GRANVILLE, N.Y. — A 42-year-old Vermont woman is accused of spiking a co-worker's drink with eyedrops a few days before the woman died.

Denise Moyer of Wells was charged Friday with misdemeanor assault. The incident happened at a Halloween party at the grocery store where they both worked in Granville, 58 miles north of Albany.

Police say 49-year-old Marceline Jones of Comstock died Nov. 2 of what was called natural causes. She had a history of health problems. When police learned in March about the eyedrops prank, Jones' autopsy results were reviewed, but there was no proof the eyedrops played a role in her death.

Police say Moyer saw the eyedrops prank in the movie "Wedding Crashers." Her lawyer, Ronald Daigle, said "she feels horrible about it."

After reading that on snopes.com I think this woman should be charged with something more than 3rd degree assault. Maybe attempter murder? It does say on the label it is a poison and she knowingly put it in the womans drink....prank or not, she did attempt to poison somebody...

And trust me the whole state is full of wackos, not just Wells. Every go though Rutland at 5am?

OMG after reading the snopes information I would say this woman should be charged with murder. I can't imagine why anyone would think it funny to poison another person. People are so stupid. She should be thrown in jail, even if they can't prove the visine killed Marceline, I bet it had a lot to do with it. My heart goes out to the family of the victim. Lets see this Wells woman taken care of. I used to live in Wells there seems to be a lot of crazy's over there. When I finally left I told people I feel as if I escaped from the FUNNY FARM :)
