Killington Resort is planning to give away activities — offering Alpine slide rides, hiking and biking at Killington and its sister resort, Pico Mountain, on Friday in exchange for a $10 donation to the United Way.
The fundraiser, in its fourth year, has taken in more than $30,000 for the United Way.
According to Killington Resort, all activities at the Pico adventure center, including the alpine slides, climbing walls, the Pico Power Jump and mini-golf, plus lift-served hiking and mountain biking via the K-1 Gondola at Killington will be free from noon to 4 p.m. with the $10 donation.
Guided horseback trail rides at the Pico Mountain Stables will also be offered for an additional $10 donation, according to the resort.
And for every summer season pass purchased on Friday — for either Killington's mountain bike season or the adventure center — the resort will donate another $10 from each pass sold. Pass prices range from $79 to $159.
The first 50 guests who purchase a summer Pico Adventure Center season pass will receive a special gift.
The Pico Mountain Adventure Center, as well as mountain biking and hiking at Killington, is scheduled to open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for the summer and fall season beginning Saturday.
