TUNBRIDGE — A 67-year-old New Hampshire woman was killed and her husband was seriously injured Thursday afternoon in a motor vehicle accident on Route 110, according to state police.

Arlene Elderd of Lebanon, N.H., died at the scene after the 2008 Toyota Scion in which she was a passenger was struck by a 2008 Audi RS4 driven by 69-year-old Lyman Orton of Weston, police said.

Her husband, George Elderd, who was driving the car, suffered a collapsed lung in the crash and was flown to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. George Elderd was still being evaluated and his condition wasn't available at the hospital early Thursday evening.

The Elderds were turning left onto Dickerman Hill when their car was struck on the passenger side by Orton, who was driving south on the highway.

Orton was uninjured in the crash which police say remains under investigation.
