Springfield parade set to step off Saturday

SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Alumni Parade will roll through town at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
The parade will begin on Clinton Street, proceed onto Main Street and then turn onto River Street and conclude at Riverside Middle School.
Between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Springfield Police are advising drivers coming from North Springfield to detour onto Mill Road, to Main Street, to Elm Street, to Fairground Road, to Chester Road, to Park Street, to Union Street, to South Street, to Seavers Brook Road and then back onto Route 11.
Drivers coming to Springfield on Route 11 from the east should just follow the detour in reverse order.
