Lewis Franco and the Missing Cats are on the prowl tonight, swinging over to play the Castleton Summer Concerts on the Green in its debut performance in the series.
The audience will be treated to a healthy dose of acoustic swing music as well as tight three-part jazz harmonies. Franco sings themes he knows all about — family and community.
The Missing Cats feature Will Patton on mandolin — who is also known for his bass mastery — Germany-born guitarist Dono Schabner, who's been playing professionally since age 12, and upright bassist Micah Carbonneau, who is also a drummer, along with Franco on rhythm guitar.
Don't forget to bring nonperishable food items for the Castleton Concert on the Green series "Give-Back Program," in which food donated will benefit a different local agency's food shelf each week. Organizers are urging attendees to help out families in need. Tonight donations go to the Poultney food shelf.
If it rains, the concert will take place under the tent at Castleton State College.
The event is free and open to the public. Show time is 7 p.m.
