BENNINGTON – A Mount Anthony Union High School student is facing a felony charge after police said he touched another student at the school.
Brett Vlach, 17, of Bennington, pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Bennington District Court to a charge of lewd and lascivious conduct.
Police said a 17-year-old girl told them Vlach had put his arms around her and touched her inappropriately.
In an affidavit, police said that during an interview on May 20, Vlach told them the girl had told the truth. Vlach told police he was "showing off" for his friends and "thought it was funny," the affidavit said.
If convicted, Vlach could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.
