Cavendish slates annual dinner

CAVENDISH — The Cavendish Community Fund will hold its annual fundraising dinner at 7 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Cavendish Inn.
"The dinner has become a regular summer event in Cavendish and is a terrific opportunity to support a truly grassroots effort to promote local programs of community benefit," said Barbara Dickey, chairwoman of the Cavendish Community Fund.
The fund has underwritten a number of community endeavors, including part of the summer concert series on the Proctorsville Green and last summer's "Cavendish Chronicles," a locally produced play about the history of the town.
