BENNINGTON – Admission and activities at the Bennington Museum will be free on Aug. 15.

The museum, which is open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., is currently hosting the exhibit, "Quality of Place: Photography, Space and Specificity."

Images in the exhibit include prints of local landmarks like the Bennington College campus and interior shots of the Old First Church by Clara Sipprell from the 1930s. Photographs from artists such as Lewis Hine, Ansel Adams, Lee Friedlander and Alfred Stieglitz look at the concept of place in more distant lands.

A small group of photographs depicting places both distant and near by Kevin Bubriski of Shaftsbury brings the show to the present day.

Bubriski will lead a gallery tour at 11 a.m., providing a photographer's perspective to the exhibit and at 1:30 p.m., museum curator Jamie Franklin will lead a 30-minute gallery tour which concentrates on the historic perspective of "Quality of Place."

Throughout the day there will be photo-related activities for all members of the family.

The museum is on Main Street in Bennington. The free community day is sponsored by the Bank of Bennington.

For more information call 447-1571 or visit the museum's Web site at www.benningtonmuseum.org.
