Much unknown about Ira project

Published: September 7, 2009

Seeking approval for a project of massive impact prior to having the wind data complete raises a number of concerns.

Why would Vermont Community Wind Farm be willing to spend huge amounts of money on lawyers and experts only to find out that the wind does not blow enough to merit placement of wind towers? Why does the state of Vermont not have any siting standards for wind turbines?

The report on supporters of the developer is also of concern in that the reporter was not present at the meeting. A quote was attributed to one of the people present that he was inspired to support the project because of his 11-month-old grandson.

If this project ever is realized, there will be no place in Ira to walk with his grandson in the mountains without being in proximity of turbines that have potential health impacts that are currently coming to light.

Public forums are necessary so that renewables that are dangerous are not put in place and those that will benefit the public good of all citizens are utilized.

Kind of like owning aaquite a few buildings and not renting them out. Use the process as a tax write off, the American way. Good Day,CCF

Plus, it is VCWF's money and time to do whatever they choose to, even if the process does not seem to be the way you would do it. As to the state not having any siting standards for wind towers, all you have to do is look at the legislature, they are more worried about passing the gay marriage agenda than
anything that may require some thought.

Maybe he only will take short walks with his grandson and not to the top of the mountains into the woods. Public forums only on "renewables" that are dangerous? I do not think that it is feasable for selective implementation of any power source or as you wrote, "so that renewables that are dangerous are not put in place and those that will benefit the public good of all citizens are utilized".
I have to ask, What really is safe, and is,"all citizens" just those who can afford it?
Maybe someone will want to build a , "clean coal burning plant",in Ira.
Will you support that? New York City has coal burning generators inside the city boroughs, Do you think they are safe enough to live near? I would risk saying that they would probably prefer a windmill to having a coal burning generator in the neighborhood.
Like I have written before, it is time to realize what the country as a whole is willing to live with for an energy production facility, as there is going to have to be some concessions for the greater "public good"? Good Day, CCF
