Engineering show slated for Saturday

WINDSOR — The American Precision Museum will host its 10th annual Model Engineering Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Windsor Community Center.
The best model machinists in New England will be on hand to exhibit their fine craftsmanship and engineering excellence, along with special demonstrations throughout the day at the show and also at the museum.
Paul Hamler of Blairsville, Ga., will display his handmade copies of antique pedal-powered woodworking tools and will hold two workshops: "The Hidden Stories of John Mosley's Plough Plane" at 10:30 a.m. and "Tooling and Fixturing for the Manufacture of Miniature Kentucky Long Rifles" at 2 p.m.
Janet Collins of Ryegate is a teacher in fine woodworking and a custom furniture maker specializing in traditional furniture. She will demonstrate several different techniques of texturing the wood, such as carving and painting.
