CASTLETON — Transportation and regional planners want to hear residents' views today on road and bridgework and the federal stimulus money paying for a number of those projects this year.

Hosted by the Vermont Transportation Board and the Rutland and Addison County regional planning commissions, the public hearing at the Castleton Town Office is an annual call to residents to give opinions about program development and construction, state officials said. The hearing begins at 6:30 p.m.

The Transportation Board uses the information from public hearings across the state for a report that it submits to the state House and Senate Transportation committees in January.

The Castleton hearing is the second of six. The first was held last month in Montpelier. Other hearings this month will take place in Bellows Falls, Milton, Bennington and St. Johnsbury.
