BARNSTABLE, Mass. — A man charged in connection with firebombing a Barnstable home with three children inside will spend seven to 10 years in prison.
Victor Mason pleaded guilty Friday to charges including armed assault with intent to murder, though he never threw the Molotov cocktail he carried toward the house.
Mason was seen dropping the explosive in the yard in April 2008.
His co-defendant, Jose Reyes, was convicted in September of throwing a Molotov cocktail into the home and sentenced to 15 to 18 years in prison. Mason's attorney asked for a lesser sentence for his client because he never threw his explosive.
No one was injured in the fire.
Three other men were charged in the incident. Authorities said they'd had a dispute with the apartment's occupants earlier that evening.
