ALBANY – Two teenagers from Barton are facing a host of criminal charges after police arrested them for their alleged roles in stealing guns and a car, according to the Vermont State Police.
Police on Wednesday began investigating a burglary at a house on Route 14 in Albany where four guns were stolen. They also received a report of a car that had been stolen from the Barton area, which was later found in a gravel pit in Sheffield burned and destroyed.
After an investigation, police arrested Ryan Hatch, 17, and Alan Tanguay, 18.
Hatch will face charges of burglary, petty larceny and operating a vehicle without the owner's consent, police said.
Tanguay will face charges of possession of stolen property, possession of heroin and marijuana and accessory to after the fact, police said.
