Pulling a Boehner

Toolbox

Published: November 9, 2009

I was astounded to see U.S. Rep. John Boehner’s speech at a rally against health care reform yesterday. At one point, he held up what he said was his copy of the Constitution, and delivered what he portrayed as quotes from the document. But he was really citing the Declaration of Independence.

I would hope that he knows the difference between the two! I suspect that saying “no” and the opportunity for a sound bite are more important than accuracy and honesty. How sad.

Pretty Foxy move, eh, Robert? They painted all those fall leaves in the trees back to summery green and somehow managed to increase the size of the crowd tenfold by doing so. Amazing!

Well, it's fitting that Rep. Boehner would make this minor mistake. It follows perfectly with Fox News' coverage of the event in which Sean Hannity had to dub in a crowd scene from a completely different event to make it appear as though it was something that it was not. The two go rather nicely together.

ns62, a mandatory annual IRS audit would be a hoot. Might at least keep some of the dirtbags from running. Tomorrow is Veterans days. Be sure to thank a vet.

I have never gotten into a discussion about the Constitution. The only thing I would say about it is that it is one of the most perfect legal documents ever written. That said, it takes an entire branch of Government to interpret it.

Wow! For a minute there when I saw the headline I thought I was reading the 7 Days ads that feature adult entertainment. Double entendre, anyone?

Most of the politicians in office today proabably don't know the constitution.

Maybe in addition to requiring all elected officials undergo a full IRS audit they should also have to pass a test on the content of the constitution? Judging by the number of tax cheats that have been uncovered in the last year or so and the number of "mistatements" like mr Boehners we need something.
