Man charged with exceeding 100 mph

READSBORO — A Massachusetts man was stopped by Vermont State Police for going 112 mph Sunday on Route 100 in Readsboro, police said.

Brent Stred, 31, of North Adams, Mass., was stopped after he was clocked at more than 100 mph in a 50 mph zone, police said.

Stred was arrested and brought to the state police barracks in Shaftsbury. He was released with a citation to appear in Bennington District Court on Dec. 8.
