SPRINGFIELD — A Northfield woman and her three passengers were injured Wednesday morning on Interstate 91 when she lost control of her pickup while trying to pass another vehicle.
Vermont State Police said Victoria Austin, 52, of Northfield, the operator of the 1998 vehicle, was taken to Springfield Hospital, along with her passengers Dennis Buska, 59, of Northfield, a 5-year-old boy, J. Bates, also of Northfield, and Alba Buska, 81, of Sharon.
Police said all the injuries were minor.
The accident, on the Springfield, Weathersfield town line, brought three different ambulances to the scene to handle all the patients, said Springfield Deputy Fire Chief Scott Richardson.
Richardson said originally rescue workers thought they would have to use the Jaws of Life to get out one patient, but were able to remove them with another method.
Richardson said the Springfield Fire Department and ambulance were on the scene, along with Golden Cross Ambulance and Charlestown, N.H., Ambulance.
Vermont State Police said the investigation into the crash is continuing.
