A Poultney couple pleaded innocent in Rutland District Court Tuesday on charges they worked together to commit two purse snatchings in the Walmart parking lot Monday night.

Robert Alberts, 52, of Endless Brook Road, plead innocent to two felony counts of stealing purses from the hands of two women that night.

Alberts, who was caught by police in the parking lot of the North Main Street Mobil station with one of the purses, was held in Rutland jail for lack of $35,000 bail.

Donna Holmes, 49, of the same residence, plead innocent to one felony count of accessory after the fact, for picking up Alberts and leaving the scene of the crimes, according to a police affidavit.

Holmes told police she didn't know Alberts was going to steal and Alberts told police he needed the money to pay bills, according to court records.

Holmes was released under the condition she would not have contact with Alberts.

These two dirtbags need to be locked up for the remainder of their natural lives. They have shown that they do not care about the care and well being of anyone but themselves. Don't lock them up in one of our liberal run prison resorts. Lock them up with Sheriff Joe in the Arizona desert.
