PLAINFIELD — The Vermont State Police says that underage drinking played a role in a June traffic crash that killed a Montpelier teenager.
Police say tests showed that 17-year-old Caidin McKeever had a blood alcohol content of 0.08 at the time of the June 23 crash.
McKeever was driving the car that hit a tree on U.S. Route 2 in Plainfield. McKeever was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Four other people in the car were injured.
Police say they are now trying to determine who provided the alcohol to the group.
