WESTON — Marguerite A. Parker, age 88, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, with her family by her side.
The daughter of Pearl and Lyda (Wilkins) Hart, she was born in Weston, Vt., on November 5, 1921, and lived in Weston her entire life. She received her education at the Village School in Weston.
On December 28, 1940, she married Fernan Parker. Together they raised five children.
Marguerite was a homemaker. Her life was centered around taking care of her husband, her family and her home. She especially enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, camping, reading, holding babies and her family genealogy. She will long be remembered for her many gentle acts of kindness and love.
Marguerite is survived by her five children, Brenda Mathews of Westminster, Gordon Parker of Weston, Gloria Cook of Westminster, Charles Parker of Weston and Rodger Parker of Andover; her sister, Elizabeth Wilkins of Londonderry; her brother, Hugh Hart of Chester, and her brother, Glen Hart of Weston; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Fernan Parker, who passed away in May 2009; and brothers, Otis, Leo, John, Carroll, and one sister, Claire, in infancy.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Weston Rod & Gun Club in Weston on Saturday, November 28th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A private burial service will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Weston, Vt.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Bayada Nurses Homecare Specialists for their dedication to making her last months as comfortable as possible.
