WINOOSKI — Peanuts are back in Winooski schools.
In 2002 city school officials established a peanut and tree nut policy. It never banned peanuts, but administrators chose to do so to avoid allergy problems.
Associate Superintendent Mary Martineau says that at a meeting earlier this month some residents questioned the ban.
She says a special table will be set up in school cafeterias for students with allergies.
The Burlington Free Press says peanuts will be allowed back into the schools on Dec. 7.
