WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A Ludlow teenager is facing charges he led police on a high-speed pursuit.

Trevor Allen, 17, pleaded innocent Tuesday in White River Junction District Court to misdemeanor charges of drunken driving, reckless or negligent operation of a vehicle and attempting to elude police.

According to an affidavit filed with the court, around 11 p.m. Friday, police saw two vehicles turn from Main Street to Commonwealth Avenue at a high rate of speed. The officer turned on his lights and gave pursuit, and while the rear SUV pulled over, the lead vehicle turned onto North Cross Hill Road, records state.

Police gave chase to Allen's vehicle, which hit speeds of 80 mph on the 35-mph road, and later found him sitting in the back seat of his vehicle, parked in a driveway, claiming the driver had run into the woods, records state. Allen's passenger later told police Allen was the driver, according to affidavits.

The charges against Allen carry a combined maximum penalty of five years in prison. He is free on conditions he observes a nightly curfew in his home and submits to alcohol testing.
