KILLINGTON — The mountain claiming to have "big mountain terrain and small mountain charm" also has a big heart when it comes to giving.
From Dec. 18 to 20, Pico Mountain collected $2,025 from guests who donated $20 to the United Way of Rutland County.
The guests received a free Pico Express Card and the United Way received the large donation.
Through the past four years, Pico and Killington Resort have donated more than $25,000 to the organization from similar fundraisers.
Also in the spirit of giving, Pico Mountain donated either a free "Learn-to" package or a free lift ticket to anyone who donated blood at the Red Cross's Gift of Life Marathon on Dec. 22, helping to collect 1,024 pints and break the single-day record for any blood drive in New England, according to a press release from the ski resort.
