Farrell Vending Services of Burlington has acquired the Rutland operation of Evergreen Vending along with 50 local accounts, Farrell announced Thursday.
Based in New York, Evergreen's Rutland territory included accounts in Rutland, North Clarendon, Middlebury, West Rutland, Poultney, Dorset, Proctor, Danby and Whitehall, N.Y.
Farrell closed on the acquisition at the end of last month.
Farrell spokesman Dennis Madigan said the acquisition allows Farrell to expand its market share in the area.
Madigan said Evergreen employed up to four employees and all have been offered jobs with Farrell.
He said the Rutland operation will now be based out of Farrell's existing Brandon office and distribution center.
Farrell Vending provides snack foods and sandwiches to corporate accounts from St. Albans south to Rutland.
The company employs 50 people.
