Two West Rutland teenagers answered to felony drug charges on Monday after police say they found almost a pound of marijuana in their car.
Thomas J. Rougier, 19, and Chrystal M. Cioffi, 19, pleaded innocent in Rutland District Court to felony counts of marijuana possession and Rougier also pleaded innocent to a misdemeanor charge of violating conditions of release.
Bail was set at $5,000 for Cioffi while no bail was set for Rougier.
Rougier and Cioffi were arrested after a traffic stop on Spellman Terrace in Rutland. During the stop, state police Trooper Joseph Duca said he could smell marijuana in the car. After gaining consent to search the vehicle, Duca said police found a gallon-sized Ziploc bag full of marijuana on the passenger's side of the vehicle.2 CommentsMORE IN This Just InThe Middletown Springs Memorial Day Parade is on Sunday.
