WOODFORD – Police are investigating the suspected theft of a 2010 Triton snowmobile trailer, which was believed to have been taken from a public parking lot off of Route 9 about 8:45 a.m. Sunday.

Police described the trailer, which belongs to James Ward, 41, of Ware, Mass., as charcoal in color and about 8 feet wide by 12 feet long.

Witnesses told police a maroon Dodge pickup truck with a full-size extended cab and believed to be a newer model, left the parking lot with a trailer.

Police said someone driving the same truck was suspected of trying to steal another snowmobile trailer from the same parking lot March 6.

The Vermont State Police at the Shaftsbury barracks are investigating the theft and have requested anyone with information about the incident call them at 442-5421.
