MONTPELIER - Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas is warning that states are preparing to fight the federal government over health care reform.

Speaking Monday in an interview with CNBC, Douglas said legislation is pending in 38 states calling on their state governments not to comply with some of mandates that may be required in federal legislation.

Douglas says he's worried about unfunded mandates from the federal government and also is urging against what he termed a one-size-fits-all approach to health care.

The remarks come as President Barack Obama puts on a big push for Congress to pass a sweeping health reform bill.
