Historian to present covered bridge show

SPRINGFIELD — Euclid Farnham will present a program, "The Covered Bridges of Vermont" at 2 p.m. May 11 at the Nolin Murray Center.
Farnham, a local historian from Tunbridge, will show his collection of photographic slides of covered bridges from all over the state and will discuss the history and construction techniques and tell interesting and humorous stories about these landmarks.
This is the final program of the spring semester of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, which is affiliated with University of Vermont and is a local membership program geared towards people 50 years and older who want to engage in meaningful learning.
Membership is $40 for the semester. Nonmembers are encouraged to attend individual lectures for $8. Scholarship help is available. The fall semester will begin Aug. 30.
