SPRINGFIELD — Residents are advised to be alert for telephone scammers who claim to represent Springfield Hospital.
According to hospital representatives, someone is calling residents and claiming either to be from the hospital or representing a collection agency working on behalf of the hospital. The caller is requesting credit card information to pay an outstanding bill.
While hospital representatives make calls during the evening, residents should ask for identifying information, such as account numbers, to verify the call is originating from the hospital.
