US Veterans chief to give graduation speech at UVMThe Associated Press | May 20,2010
BURLINGTON — The U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs is going to give the graduation address at the University of Vermont.
The Department of Veterans Affairs says Secretary Eric Shinseki will also receive an honorary degree during Sunday’s graduation exercises in Burlington.
Shinseki is a 1965 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
He led the Army in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks on the United States.
He retired from the Army in June 2003.
President Barack Obama appointed Shinseki to lead the VA when Obama took office last year.2 Comments -
