SPRINGFIELD — Mario W. Bevacqua, 56, died June 5, 2010, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.
He was born March 22, 1954, in Elizabeth, N.J., the son of Mario P. and Beryl (Morgan) Bevacqua.
He graduated from Bound Brook (N.J.) High School and received his bachelor's degree in education from Kean University in Newark, N.J., and his master's degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J.
Mr. Bevacqua married Cynthia Brodhead June 17, 1978, in Spotswood, N.J.
He was employed in East Brunswick, N.J., for 13 years and worked for the past 20 years as principal of Weathersfield School.
He was a member of Unitarian Universalist Church in Springfield.
Mr. Bevacqua enjoyed gardening and boating on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Survivors include his wife of Springfield; his father of Bound Brook, N.J.; two sons, Daniel Bevacqua of Berkley, Calif., and Keith Bevacqua of Springfield; a brother, Richard Bevacqua of Toms River, N.J.; a sister, Isabelle Avigliano of Rockaway, N.J.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by his mother.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 11, at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at Weathersfield School in Ascutney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mario W. Bevacqua Memorial Scholarship Fund, Weathersfield School, 135 School House Road, Ascutney, VT 05030.
