LUDLOW — Black River Good Neighbor Services' spring rummage sale exceeded its organizers' wildest expectations.
"When we were sitting down and making our budget, I said how much I wanted to make and they laughed," said director Audrey Bridge. "We exceeded that amount by almost $2,000 dollars."
Bridge declined to say how much was raised during the three-day sale May 21-23, but said the money will be used to help needy residents of Cavendish, Ludlow, Mount Holly and Plymouth, and defray the cost of moving into the Ludlow Armory tank barn building.
BRGNS has already begun collecting items for its fall rummage sale, Oct. 1-3, and Bridge encouraged gardeners to put aside something for the fall bake sale.
"If you're doing any canning, put some away for us; if you need more jars let us know," Bridge said.
