    Daniel Goldstein
Daniel Robert Goldstein, 34, of Rutland, died this past month, August 2010.

He was born in Farmington, Conn., August 7, 1976, the eldest son of Gerald and Maureen Goldstein.

Danny attended Kansas-area schools and graduated from Blue Valley North High School in Overland Park, Kan., in 1994. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Avila University in 2005.

Most recently, Danny worked in the food service division at Mountain View Center for Genesis Healthcare.

A brilliantly talented musician and artist, he was also a gifted athlete, excelling in soccer, tennis and baseball. He loved all types of music, from heavy metal to Australian native, even teaching himself to play the didgeridoo, but had a special fondness for bluegrass and folk. An avid reader, he enjoyed everything from works on Eastern philosophy to spy novels. He was a gentle soul, widely loved by friends, family, co-workers and residents alike, all of whom mourn his passing but feel blessed to have known him. Danny also dearly loved his dog, Abby, who lives with his parents in Kansas.

He is survived by his parents, Gerald and Maureen Goldstein; siblings, Rachel, David and Michael; grandmother, Lila Phillips; brother-in-law, Marc Sobel; sister-in-law, Amy Goldstein; and beloved nephew, Jonah Sobel. He is also survived by a large number of aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 12th, at 3 p.m. at Clifford Funeral Home, 2 Washington St., Rutland, Vt.
