Irving Oil on South Main Street is offering motorists a chance to save on the cost of filling up their tank with a $1,000 giveaway on Wednesday.

The company is promoting its Irving Rewards program by giving away thousands of dollars in gift cards to customers at select locations throughout New England.

The Irving station at 258 South Main St. will be giving away tote bags to customers who fill up between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Wednesday. The tote bags could contain gift cards ranging from $20 to $100. In total, $1,000 in gift cards will be distributed to customers at the Rutland location.

Irving Oil launched its gas savings program last month at more than 300 locations in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. In Vermont, there are 28 participating Irving locations.
